The feminization of typewriters and typing techniques was but one piece, unique in its gendered aspects, of a continuing enterprise that seeks to overcome problems of communication such as the threat new technologies pose to communication protocols. The purpose of gendering the typewriting was to insure it as a reliable and faithful means of communication.
